Yoga Zone's Power Yoga for Strength and Endurance is filmed at a resort in Jamaica. I keep waiting for one of the ducks to cross their mats!

David Swenson's Short Forms (filmed in a botanical garden in Houston)
David Swenson's Just Relax (filmed outside on Maui)
Rod Stryker's Peak Performance Yoga (filmed outside in Hawaii--maybe also Maui)
Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness (filmed outside in British Columbia)
Tilak Pyle's Altar of the Heart (filmed outside, looks like at Yogaville in Virginia)
Erich Schiffmann's Backyard Beginners (he has lovely bougainvillea plants in his yard, and don't miss the special guest appearance by Fig the Cat!)
Erich Schiffmann and Ali McGraw's Yoga Mind and Body (White Sands National Monument)
Rodney Yee's Yoga for Athletes (I think that one is also in Hawaii)

I just love Yoga DVDs with outdoor scenery! Many of my favorites (Yoga Shakti!) have already been listed, so I'll just add to the ones already mentioned:

-Sara Ivanhoe's 20 Minute Makeover series (Hawaii)
-Julie Rubio's Yoga Can Balance Your Life (Oahu in Hawaii)
-Sharon Tron's The Power Of Yoga (British Columbia's Sunshine Coast)
-Diane Kovanda's Yoga Cape Cod (Cape Cod beach)
-Marsha Metzger's Endless Possibilities Yoga (on grassy area outside)
-Suzanne Deasons Lower Body Yoga (crater of Haleakala volcano on Maui)
-Lori Walden's Yoga In Paradise (St. John U.S. Virgin Islands)
-Suzanne Deason's Stress Relief Yoga (filmed at sunset Maui)
-Suzanne Deason's Yoga Conditioning For Women (Maui)
-Suzanne Deason's Gentle Yoga (Maui)
-Peggy Hall's Yoga For Surfers series (California beach with some shots indoors)
-Mimi Solaire's Back In Shape (Australian beach)
-Nicki Doane's Ashtanga Yoga set (Hawaii)

Yoga Shakti without a doubt.

ETA - I personally really find the scenery in Rainbeau Mars' Pure Tranquility to be distracting. The outrigger canoes kill me every time. Now I just keep my eyes closed.

My favorites have already been mentioned, but I had to post because I need to add emphasis on one point... First I will second the recommendations for Rainbeau's Sacred Vinyasa Flow series (on Maui) and Rodney's Power Yoga Total Body (Big Island of Hawaii).

Yoga Shakti isn't just nice outdoor scenery. Yoga Shakti's setting is MIND-BLOWING. It's filmed on, I believe, two locations in southern India and the Maldives. In several segments she's on a sandbar with lapping waves on *both* sides of her. It's also shot entirely in natural light -- some day scenes, some night, some amazing clouds ... For extra credit, she has included a second DVD with some footage of Indian festivals & such.

Plus it's a damn good practice (actually a lot of practices).

Yoga Shakti is perhaps my overall favorite scenery, it is definitely mind blowingly beautiful!

The others mentioned, Ateeka, lots of the Yee by the ocean, Rainbeau Mars, Sherrie Baptiste Freeman, the Sivananda Yoga Video, David Swenson's "Advanced" (demonstration only) and "Just Relax" are beautiful also (I wouldn't be surprised if they were filmed at the same time, talk about a contrast, from super impossible advanced ashtanga to very basic stretching

I also like the scenery for Suzanne Deason's "Yoga For Weight Loss", that desert setting is really nice as well!

The Yoga Zone's are all nice also, not as mind blowing as some of the others , but still very nice!

Best,

Scott

Hi Susanna,

Yoga Shakti is probably a DVD that someone with a fair amount experience could do. It has four pre-programmed routines, two of which aren't super challenging and two Solar Programs which are VERY long and challenging. However, it also has a Yoga matrix which lets you build a program by choosing the sequences you like.

It's a really versatile DVD and Shiva Rea is really a great teacher.

It is flow based so you will be moving a lot.

I don't mess around with hand stands either so I just skipped that part of the Solar routine. Maybe I'll try them at some point

I hope that helps

Best,

Scott

I'm embarrassed but I know I'll build up again..no wonder downdogs are giving me so many problems starting back to exercising!
eta: I do have total yoga earth pulled out to do ..hopefully Sunday or Monday when I don't have to get to bed by 10 for work . hate these 12 hr shifts.
