Heehee. Where is Mistress Satanica when you need her.

Does she still lurk?

Sharon, I knew you were a New York Times crossword solver. I saw a blurb on TV not too long ago about the guy who creates these puzzles. His mind is so complexed. He gave an example on how to solve one of his puzzles and instead of solving it by starting about point A and ending at point B (which I prefer to do), he started from point A, and then went to point B,C, and D before finally solving the question.

You know, I just pulled out my CTX and did several of the cardios in a row. I was surprised that my body/mind remembered almost all of the complicated little choreography in All Step. (I haven't done that workout in probably over a year!) I think that your mind/body really does have a memory. And I agree choreography is good for the mind.

I also think that a variety of activities is required to keep the mind/body young and alert. (And yes, you do need to think about these things in your 30s! ) I practice yoga, pranayama, some meditation (although I use guided meditations) lift weights, and do several types of cardiovascular exercise - and I think that it is this variety that keeps me healthy and optimistic.

I have a few friends who only practice yoga and they are in good shape ( I call them my yoga snobs ). But I can outrun them (both in speed and distance), outcycle them (ok, on a spinbike!) and carry twice as many groceries up 10 flights of stairs as any of them! (This was recently proven during a power outage)

Wow! I hardly know how to answer this comment as just last week I posted asking for mindless and boring workout suggestions! LOL!

I love yoga AND I love mindless workouts. I guess I am deep and shallow at the same time. You're only in your thirties now and have found that a narrow focus is what serves you best. When you get to be an older poop like me you may decide that mindless workouts are just what the doctor ordered!

(Besides, some folks feel that yoga is so mindless that the devil will jump into your head an turn you into a demon! )

The editor of The New York Times crossword, Will Shortz, does the puzzle segment on NPRs Sunday Edition. I wonder what it means that I sometimes start at the end.
