Slysam, thank you for the links. They led me to this wall-mounted bar that I like and is reasonably priced: http://www.ultimatebodypress.com/wal...ll-up-bar.html

It sure is a nice one, but, again, I don't have molding to hang that on.

I have not used this yet - summer project plan! - but I recently put this book on my Kindle: Your First Chin-Up, by Steve Maxwell. He offers a progressive plan to take you to a full pull-up.

Total pull up weakling here. I have found a body bar across two chairs or my fluidity bar to be great to use to start building up strength. I have a pull up bar for my doorway but even assisted with bands is too hard for me at this point.

I feel ya. I'm pretty sure that a combo of bands AND my husband hoisting my a$$ up would be too much for me at this point.

This looks fantastic!!!!! I have a Iron Pull-up bar, but am going to order this to see if it works with my larger mouldings. The Iron bar is ok, but since it's mounted within the doorframe it's a bit low, and I have to sort of lean back a touch to make sure my head doesn't hit the frame at the top of the move. I like how this bar is so high up. Other styles similar to this won't fit my older home mouldings, but this looks to have a lot of clearance - I hope it works!!!!!

I have a older home and it works fine with my moulding, plus it's a two level pull up station you can do them off the higher bars or the lower bars

Yes this does work...that how I finally started doing push ups on my toes (although they're still challenging for me)
