Paula B.’s workouts done barefoot

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to ask those of you who do Pahla’s workouts a question. Do you do them barefoot like Pahla does, or do you wear shoes?

I was wondering if there’s a reason Pahla doesn’t wear shoes. I love Jessica’s fusion workouts that are barefoot, but I’m not used to doing all my workouts like that.

Any insight or information you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

When I was doing them regularly, I did do them barefoot at first. But, it started bothering my feet and I no longer go barefoot when doing them.

Hi Sue,

I usually wear socks and, since we have tiled floors, I do them on one or two yoga mats. That's what I do with Jessica Smith and pretty much all workouts. I believe that the reason she does them barefoot is that it helps her with balance. I read about it recently on the Facebook group, I believe.

From what I recall, she does it because it works for her. If my memory serves me correctly, as with pretty much everything, her approach is one of: do what works for you.

I do them barefoot...but I do all workouts barefoot...

I do them with shoes on. I do almost all workouts with shoes on - pilates might be the exception. Lately I've even been doing barre workouts with shoes on.

Pahla has mentioned that she's always been a barefoot exerciser - it's just her preference.

I do all my workouts, except step, bare footed. It just feels better to me. Most of the time, I do my workouts in my jammies...

I usually mimic the instructor when it comes to shoes/no shoes and one reason I love Pahla is that I don’t have to put on shoes when I do her workouts. All of her workouts are low-impact and it’s so fun to do them with bare feet.

I think it's just a matter of preference. I do the Pahla B workouts with shoes. I need to wear orthotics in my shoes plus I'm recovering from a broken foot, and I can't do anything barefoot right now.
