Oh nooooo!!! I LOVE the Statler Brothers. I saw them several times in concert. They are such good guys. Really truly a class act. I still have the boutonničre that Phil Balsley gave me at one concert. This is such sad news. Harold had such a great voice and was so funny.

I was thinking about the first time I saw them when I was little. They were supposed to be performing with Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash never showed up for the concert, but the Statler Brothers performed anyway and we still got our money refunded. I’m sure they didn’t have to perform, but the fact that they gave us a free concert says a lot about them.

I saw via Facebook that Mari Winsor has passed away after years suffering with ALS.
Nobody should get this awful disease, but for Mari to have been stricken with it after a lifetime of promoting fitness always seemed especially cruel to me. Mari was my introduction to Pilates, and her original Guthey-Renker infomercial is what led me to discover VF. It is a sad day for her fans, but her suffering has ended. Rest in peace Mari. |
