I'm with Tugger, weights have definitely changed my body shape in a positive way and I'm 53. I generally do home weights with Cathe and 65 pounds for chest press and deadlift is my max. I also go to the gym for treadmill hiit interval classes and circuit classes to mix it up and burn the fat. Nutrition is the key. You have to shed the fat to see the muscle. But you also have to enjoy what you're doing otherwise you won't be consistent.
