Can't find anything challenging for toning during shutdown

I can't find anything on DVDs that is challenging enough for me for toning during the shutdown. I am walking and running for cardio, and that is sufficient for cardio, but none of the DVDs that I have really leaves me feeling like I've toned anything. I've tried weights, bands, and kettlebells, and I don't feel anything. I'm getting stressed out about losing muscle as this period drags on. Any suggestions?

Do you stream workouts? I'd suggest either Cathe On Demand or Beachbody to have some different choices.

Cathe workout set suggestions:
STS
Strong and Sweaty
Xtrain
Pure Strength

Beachbody program suggestions:
Body Beast
LIIFT 4
80 Day Obsession
P90X
The Work

Have you tried Cathe’s free online classes? She posts the next day’s schedule every night. Also, if you have heavy enough weights, can you just make up a routine of 2-3 exercises per body part?

If it doesn't, try punching concrete and flipping cars

I would recommend:

Cathe LITE Lower Body and Upper Body
FIRM Tough Tape 2

When I go heavy with the above, I always feel it the next day (and often beyond).

I also like KCM Body Shop because I usually have DOMS the following day or two. I use medium and heavy weights with it.

I am using his site for mobility and lower intensity workouts, but he has some amazing looking harder workouts: Mark Lauren online. There's a decent free trial-- not sure how long.

What were you doing before? What DVDs have you tried?

I am most challenged by following a written plan at my own pace.
I don’t like following videos for strength as much as as I used to, unless they are more like Iron Barre where you do one set with her and then repeat on your own.

The challenge comes from having heavy enough weights, or if you don’t, then using more challenging bodyweight variations or doing a lot more reps.

When I do a strength DVD I like Cathe or Tracie Long the best. The first time through is harder to find the appropriate challenge when I don’t know what’s coming. Maybe that is the trouble you are having, if you are doing a new one each time and then not repeating the next week like you would in a rotation.
