Repetitive strain from Leslie Sansone?

Has anyone experienced leg fatigue or overuse of the hip flexors from Leslie Sansone type marching/walking? I've been doing Leslie Sansone or Jenny Ford Walk Across America every day, and my hip flexors and quads are getting sore and achy. I thought this would be harmless, low impact cardio, but can even this cause overuse?

I supposed it could, but I haven’t had any problems. In the last 3 months I’ve been doing walking workouts about 3 hours a day and I actually feel better than usual.

Yes, I had hip flexor and low back pain. I did her workouts for years with no issues, but then they started bothering me.

I feel like I'm starting to experience this. Between Leslie and several other in-home, non-treadmill walking workouts I do, I find that my hip flexors have occasional pain, I'm losing some hip flexibility, and I have more PF and achilles pain flares. It's not totally stopping me from doing these workouts, but I know I need to reintegrate more walking and jogging outdoors so that at least I'm getting greater forward flexion. Also putting more yoga and Pilates back into my rotation to better cross-train.

My hips also bother me from too much of the same type of walking. I have to either alternate days for the type/instructor or make sure I'm also stretching hips and psoas area. I love walking, but haven't been able to do so with my PF flaring up again. I've missed my Jenny and Leslie workouts, as well as my treadmill walks. If I did short mini-walks, I'd probably be okay, but would have to make sure my shoes had plenty of cushion with insoles and support. Other workouts like Slim Series and SI6 also bothered my hips with the number of squats/lunges, too! I just have to listen to my body, and nowadays I do a lot more stretching/yoga than I used to do.

I have tight hip flexors too, even though I try to stretch them as much as I can. Regular walking seems to work the best for stretching them out.

With Jessicas walking workouts, sometimes it flares my PF, which is weird b/c I can do high impact and other types of workouts and not have an issue.

I didn't realize this thread is from 10 years ago, but it's what came to mind when I saw your post, bfit.

I still don't kick very high and I do about half of the knee ups, substituting with side taps or back taps, or even inner thigh kicks.

And coincidentally, someone mentioned how Ellen's workouts hurts her back, well the two I'd done recently hurt my back and neck when they hadn't before. I may have to stop doing her workouts or figure out what I'm doing wrong.
