Yesterday I did not have time to work out in the morning, but I got more than 11k steps, involving walking down many stone steps the to river and back up the hill again. Today I did a mini band workout for the lower body by that same new British instructor I found. I liked it because she came up with a way to do single-legged deadlifts and to add tension to reverse lunges. etc. It was really cramped and hot in the room but I could still do this workout. And I am well on my way to a good amount of walking today too.
Diana, how great that your DH is done with that surgery! My DH still has clear skin. He got the steroid shot before we left, and that cleared him up at last so that his new meds would work. His skin is quite scarred on his legs especially now, so he is hoping that goes away. But he is doing well.
Cynthia, you're right about the adventure and that's how we look at it. Although DH is not getting enough sleep because he took the living room pull-out sofa (he stays up late and he thought it would be cooler temps) but it is loud and bright in there. But we are all looking at it like that. I have lived in much worse situations longterm. And the perks are great here!
Lynn, many of the homes in Portugal have no heating at all. They are used to it, but I am not. I made sure our flat for the winter has mini-split A/C-heaters in each room, and that the windows are new. That makes a big difference!
Hope you all have a great Labor Day!
