I should see if I could find the originals somewhere - maybe used bookstores, library book sales, etc.

Well technically, the lion's share of the Nancy Drew books were updated, but the updates were done in the 60's and 70's. Though not all "original" ND books were over 200 pages long, it is a rule that if the book is longer than 200 pages, it is the original text. Nothing like adding cell phones, etc. More like changing things like jalopies into roadsters or coupes.

I had read all of Steve Hamilton's Alex McKnight books and found out last week that I missed the last one. This must have been when he was changing publishers. In addition to the other books I am reading I am listening to Dead Man Running by Steve Hamilton.

I'm reading Patterns of Change by Terri DuLong, a new book in an old series. For those who might be interested and have Amazon Prime, it is included in Prime Reading (free).

I'm also reading Blind River by Ben Follows, a new author to me, and am enjoying it.

From the library, I'm reading The House Guests by Emilie Richards, one of my favorite authors..

I don't get it personally - why not just have them set in the time when they were written?

Donna
I think they updated "Daughters of Eve" also. I actually still have my original copy (!) but it is falling apart. I just bought a copy of the original version on abebooks.com.

I recently read this too!

That really is weird!

I recently finished Gabrielle Union's new book, You Got Anything Stronger, and started Beautiful Country: A Memoir by Qian Julie Wang.

I wish I still had my originals, Sherry! I have some of my old books, but not many.

My mom wanted me to get rid of them, but I hung into as many as I could. It is not a lot, but I am glad for what I have.

I tend to be an anti-hoarder, and sometimes it does come back to bite me as I end up missing something I gave away.
