Callanetics can zone you out (and make the workout ineffective), but it's soooo boring.

Victoria Johnsons's Power Step Training

I mean, who else would hold a step-touch or knee-up for THIRTY TWO counts? And still make it fun?

A bunch of Victoria Johnson DVDs showed up at Ross stores for $5.99 each...

I've done a few mind numbing workouts in the past, but for the life of me, I can't remember a single one. They must have been very mind numbing.

our DVD player is in the shop (again) and i've been resigned to using the beloved VHS! what a wonderful "problem" because now i've been revisiting my old workouts. did AeroJump the other day and what a great workout it was!

i also discovered that i don't have enough straight cardio in my collection, VHS especially.

so i happened to be at the Goodwill and found 2 workouts:

reebok Power blast
kari anderson's 2 the max

and i found an aerobic slide at another thrift store and slide video at the Goodwill.

so my cardio has been revitalized in various ways!

Are you at all into step? (Sorry, I don't remember right now) I won't call Gilad's Step Aerobics really dull (I love the music and the end when all 3 sections are put together), but the steps are very easy, yet the actual workout can be a killer. It starts out very basic, and kind of slow, but really builds in intensity. Collage rates it basic in choregraphy but inter/advanced in intensity and I still agree after all these years of doing it. You know, the very fact that Collage is still selling this after 12 years, and it's still a favorite, should count for something. Check out Collage for a preview.

(Once I learned the first section, which does kind of go on too long with teaching some of the basics, I just always kept my tape cued up to the start of the 2nd section. Doing the 2nd section, 3rd section, then the final when all 3 sections are put together makes for a nice intense 30 minute workout! )

Of course if you really want mind-numbing, I have some really old step tapes by Lynn Brick that you can have. Talk about up, up, down, down.
