Thanks, everybody, those are all good ideas. I'll give it a month and see how much I'm using it.
Tugger31 -- I am the exact same. I'll lose 2-3 pounds by lowering calories for a month or two, and then boom it just comes back and usually more than I had lost. I've learned that my body doesn't like lowering calories, nor does it like just sitting around doing nothing, or just walking every day. I've spent 3 years trying to change the inevitable, and I've just mentally suffered from thinking any one thing would change this. It won't in my case. I've quite literally tried everything food/calorie wise, and it's the same result every time. And I've quite literally tried everything workout wise, and it's the same result every time. So I've given up trying. I figure I might as well just eat what sounds good and work out how I like. I now consider myself the queen of modifying, as I can barely complete a workout as intended, but at least I'm up and moving. I've also come to terms with the fact that working out now at 47 is not going to do anything for the weight but now it's just for the mental benefits. I like working out with Cathe, KCM, Tracie Long, mostly because I like working out with weights and I feel good. These workouts used to control my weight quite well, but now I know there's no chance of that anymore. Injuries after injuries of not properly modifying or resting when I needed it were the wake-up calls that I missed. Lots of life lessons in the late-40s. But gosh I'm tired of focusing on what I can't do, or constantly feeling like I'm 87. Thanks for your encouragement, I really appreciate it. It has really made my day!
