Active Recovery Workout

As I'm aging I'm realizing how important it is to add some recovery workouts into my rotations. I'm also trying to focus on improving mobility, range of motion, flexibility and balance. I injured something in my hip/lower back area earlier this year. I felt my age when moving around. Also I had some strange side effects when recovering from covid early this year and lost my balance coordination for a few months. Previously I never wanted to slow down and do recovery workouts. Now I see they are as important as cardio and strength workouts. I've started doing gentle or pain relief yoga/ stretching workouts. I've also started adding in more Classical Stretch/Essentrics workouts. I just ordered some Tai Chi/Qi Gong workouts. I'm interesting in hearing what others use for recovery activities.

I use Jessica Smith's recovery workouts on Youtube and/or recovery/injury prevention/stretching workouts on DVD. I also like a workout from Kathy Smith's Total Body Turnaround DVD. It works out kinks and gets me going when I'm having a low-energy day.

Those are the workouts that are coming to mind right now.

For recovery activities I do Yin Yoga, gentler Classical Stretch episodes, and walking.

Hi Tammie, I also use gentle Classical Stretch, Leslie's walks, gentle Pilates workouts, and foam roller, my favorite is the bonus foam roll workout on one of Trudie Styler DVD, I like Lastics too and Annette Fletcher's Stretch & Join Mobility Therapy.

Pilates and yoga (mostly yin) daily. And attending to how I move in my other workouts.

I do yoga, stretching, and Pilates for active recovery. I like to do a little extra yoga on the weekend when I can, which is often yin yoga or yoga for pain relief. I tried and liked Jessica Smith's recent mobility/stretch workout. I've also done CS/Essentrics, walking, and the Kathy Smith workout mentioned above by Sollamyn. My active recovery workouts are usually ones that don't make me sweat a lot.

In addition to what else has been mentioned, I like The Firm's Cardio Sculpt Fusion, aka Total Body Lite.
