Enjoying a new (to me) author: Charlie Holmberg
https://www.amazon.com/Charlie-N.-Ho...0m_abau_000000

Read her Spellbreaker/Spellmaker duology and liked it well enough. (The author does have a few phrases she over uses…)

Then I read The Paper Magician trilogy. Liked the concept; execution wasn’t the best; main character made some annoying/stupid choices. But still…a decent (free with kindle unlimited), quick read.

I just finished "We Begin At The End" by Chris Whitaker. Very enjoyable read. I will read more books by Chris.
Currently reading "Survive The Night" by Riley Sager. I wasn't going to read this one but now it's getting some good reviews on Good Reads so I decided to give it a whirl. So far I'm enjoying even though you really need to suspend your disbelief on this one. Scary stuff is my favorite jam.

I am 6 weeks post-op and am lying on the couch 24/7 and thought I'd get SO much reading done after the holidays but I got a concussion the day before my dd went back to college and haven't read a word. I am so disappointed - I have a huge stack of books here that I was so excited about reading.

I'm reading The Husbands by Chandler Baker. Which is described as a reverse Stepford Wives.
Reviews are equally split, seems people either love it or hate it. Books & movies that draw such strong emotion tend to be good IMHO, we'll see, I'm not that far into it.

I finished The Pessimists by Bethany Ball and now I'm reading her first book, What to Do About the Solomons.

Sorry to hear that & I hope you feel better soon! Have you tried audiobooks? My library has a great selection.

Erica, oh no! Hope you feel better soon.

I'm reading Key West, a series of 4 interrelated novels (in one book). It's set right after the Civil War, and I'm enjoying reading about that time period. It does have pretty heavy Christian themes; I don't identify that way, but it doesn't bother me.

I don't do well with audiobooks. I'm very much a visual learner/reader. Everything has to be in writing.

Erica, I hope you are able to enjoy reading again soon.

I finished The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister and The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo. They were just fair. I just started The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab.

Erica - What a frustration! I hope you heal to the point where you can read soon.

I am almost done with Any Sign of Life, the new book by Rae Carson. It has been well done, even if it hit close to home because it's about a global pandemic.

I'm also reading Crown of Midnight by Sarah Maas. It's the second in the Throne of Glass series and it's excellent. It's always nice when a second book is also good after enjoying the first one.
