Thank you, Linda. I really like reading old threads. Since fitness is an interest of mine, I enjoy reading about it and this forum is such a great source of information. Even if it's old information, I still find it helpful.

Perhaps this is terrible of me, but when I used to have more spare time, at the end of the night I would go back to the origins of the forum and slowly work my way through the controversial threads. I always knew the controversial thread because the threads would have many pages and the thread would often be locked. It was kind of like my version of watching a soap opera or reading the tabloids or something. Plus, it gave me context because when I first began lurking at VF (before I joined), there would be a VERY occasional reference to something and I would have no clue what was being referenced.

Some of the most memorable controversies in the very, very distant VF past were "she who cannot be named," the person who pretended to be several different people on VF and finally got found out, deltaman, more "recently" pretty much every TA and "bulking" thread, and so on. There were also quite a few lengthy and locked threads that people started to discuss the issue of controversial threads and threads being locked which I guess is kind of "meta".

For those looking for some non-controversial, pure VF humor though, this thread is one of my favorites:

"Dirty videos..."

The Dirty Videos thread totally cracked me up! I so badly want to revive it, nearly 10 years later... 😂

How are you seeing these old threads? I'm a VF Supporter and only seeing back to 12/2021 right now when I look at the forums.

Scroll all the way to the Display Options.
Its a drop down menu in the "From The" Section and you can pick "From the Beginning" and then hit the Show Threads button.

It should bring up over 7000 pages from back in 2001

thanks for posting everyone!

the one thread i wish was available was the Gilad thread from the Bargain forum. there was a major purge from that forum, and it wasn't really a Bargain thread. it had a lot of fun posts about Gilad, his workouts, his family, specific questions about his videos, etc. Unfortunately, the mods aren't really paying attention to that petition.

it might be in the Wayback archive, but it would be handier if it were still on VF for newbies to enjoy.

I would love to read the old threads, just need help finding how to view them.
