What Do You Put on MP3 for Exercise?

I finally got an MP3 player - a waterproof one for running in the pool. I'm embarrassed to admit that the last time I used music for exercise I walked with a portable CD player that played CDs that I bought from Power Music. Now I need to download onto the MP3. Do you buy music from companies like Power Music? Do you just buy iTunes or whatever and put that on the MP3? Have any of you tried to convert CDs that you already have to digital so you can put them on the player?

I burn my CDs onto my computer and then transfer them to my mp3 player.

i went through the entire evolution of portable music - i used to make my own cassette tapes to go running with up thru 2003 when i bought an iRiver MP3 player. although Sony Discman was available in the 80s, i never considered getting one for running. cassette tape players were durable and stable. the iRiver was $250 for 512 MB! i was able to sell it on Ebay when i moved on to Sansa MP3 players. i prefer them over using my phone for music.

same as Vantreesta. all the time - i have a vast CD collection and I've purchased music downloads from Amazon. I've loaded many guided meditation audios to my MP3 player by Deepak Chopra, Andrew Weil, and Jack Kornfield. for walking, I use lots of pop music, Shape CDs that i got from the library sale (original artists) and my favorite, Kathy Smith WalkFit collection. I also have Cardio Coach CDs that I've converted to MP3.

Count me as another who ripped and converted to mp3 the CDs I already owned. I did add some that I purchased and downloaded, in my case from Amazon.

All those ripped mp3 songs (and more) are now what are on the usb drive in my car for those days I just can’t take any more SiriusXM.

The MP3 unit and the headphones (which are connected to the MP3 with little cables) are all waterproof in the waterproof version. It's the same as using one on dry land except it is waterproof. Supposedly, you can wear it while swimming, but I don't intend to do that - just water running so nothing will actually be submerged. You clip the MP3 to your hat or collar.

I used CDs from my collection. I also went to the library to borrow some of theirs. I had also downloaded some songs from iTunes. My MP3 player is an old iPod so it worked well with iTunes.

Yes, you could use it for water aerobics too, although most of the time that is in a class where the instructor is already playing music.
