I was out of town at my mother-in-law's for 12 days. Since there is no cell service and she has no WiFi, I read a lot when we are there. Here is what I have read in physical books recently:
American Dirt - Jeanine Cummins - Really, REALLY well-written. The Gift of Friends - Emma Hannigan - Really enjoyed this one Maybe One Day - Debbie Johnson - It has been a good book so far On the Kindle, I read: Write My Name Against the Sky - Barbara O'Neal - This book was a harder one for me to get into than hers normally are, but it was a good book and I enjoyed it in the end. Goodbye, Again - Mariah Stewart - This was the second in a series. It was pretty good. The Longest Echo - Eoin Dempsey - This was my first book by this author, but it won't be my last. I thought this was well-written and I had trouble putting it down. Elijah - Chuck Swindoll - I always like his books and though this one was better than his average. Spooky Sweet - Connie Shelton - This was the next one in the series. I am reading this whole series. It was pretty good, pretty typical for this series. The Summer Island Festival - Rachel Burton - A little hard to get into for me, but I really enjoyed it in the end and was glad I stuck with it. Walking Sam - Deanna Lyn Sletten - It was okay. One of her older books, it was more shallow than I usually enjoy, but I did read the whole thing.

I'm about halfway through Anne Tyler's Clock Dance. I think I've mentioned before that I don't always enjoy her random, rambling style, but I like this one so far.

I’m listening to The Maid by Nita Prose. It’s an excellent read!

Anne Tyler is my favorite contemporary writer and I've never thought of her style as random; I've always felt she knew exactly where she was going. Sometimes I feel at the end that things haven't concluded the way they should, but then I'll think it through and decide that they probably have. I've had that experience with a small number of her books; Clock Dance was one of them.

Just finished The Stranger In The Mirror by Liv Constantine. Completely preposterous but I enjoyed it.
Just started The Last House on Needless Street. I'm really excited about this one! Beth aka Toaster - I sent you a friend request on Goodreads a long time ago but you never accepted |
