I was kind of amazed that they could do a 2 hour movie of Pride and Prejudice and not leave out anything significant. The series with Colin Firth is what most people consider the gold standard. ...

Emma was my first Jane Austen that I read for 19th century British Literature in college. I couldn't believe how good it was. That was actually true of all the novels I read for that class.

I read this in college and thought it was particularly good. I recently finished The Mad Women's Ball by Victoria Mas and am now reading The Sentence by Louise Erdrich.
