Firm Infomercials - blasts from the past!

i came across this today - there was a time when i had recorded this on my VCR, and i'd go back and watch it. i bought the BSS1 kit from either the infomercial or QVC, i think, with 3 VHS tapes and the FL. eventually, i got the DVD version, and still have my original FL with all of the rubber feet intact!

Enjoy!

I recorded all the Firm infomercials, too. Now they're all on YouTube. :D

i bought the BSS2 DVDs separately and used a weighted bar that i already owned. later on, someone on craigslist was selling a sculpting stick from BSS2 along with BSS1/2 DVDs, which i already owned. i was able to negotiate $5 for just the sculpting stick! i was so happy!

BSS2 infomercial - audio very good but video is blurry:

BSS3 Infomercial

the threads about this system, specifically the death box, scared me from getting it. the sheer price was cost prohibitive. i got one of the DVDs - Express, with Stephanie Huckabee, but it turned me off, so i traded it. see next post regarding BSS4 for a continuation of my narrative. :)

BSS4 Infomercial:

this was really exciting - the Firm Transfirmer (TF)! however, shipping to my state was cost-prohibitive. my lucky day was seeing the basic kit on craigslist, with its original box! so i picked up everything for something like $35 - 3 DVDs and the TF! i traded for all of the add-ons (Jiggle Free Abs, Buns, Arms), and they're all really good, especially the ones with Pam Cauthen Merriwether.

revisiting BSS3 -
the BSS4 TF motivated me to consider revisiting the BSS3 workouts..... using the TF from BSS4! the first BSS3 DVD i traded for was i think Fat Blasting Cardio with Lisa Kay. i slowly traded for the rest, and Express Cardio last. VFers gave me a huge tip - to point the TF toward the TV rather than stand "profile" the way the camera filmed the instructors.

Thanks for posting these! I love fitness infomercials.
I had no idea there were so many systems. I had some of the original Firms and the cross trainers, but by the time more came out I was only doing Cathe.

I bought the BSS1 from the informercial. I still have my FL (and all the feet). Don't have the workouts but I've seen a lot of them on YT.

First time seeing a Firm infomercial :-) Enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing! Just curious as to how the step became a "death box." I've had one for years with no issues.

the initial roll-out of BSS3 came with "The Firm Box" which had adjustable legs. customers were getting injured because it would wobble and they would fall off. The legs folded up and were slightly smaller than the upper "box" that it supported. i can't remember, but i know they stopped selling The Firm Box almost as quickly as it was rolled out. did people receive refunds?

here is a picture of all angles of The Firm box, including the underside:

this product was unlike the wooden "tall boxes" shown in the firm "classics." later on, the Transfirmer (from BSS4), was a different design in that it was a 2-piece step: the bottom piece was slightly larger than the top piece, providing a more stable stepping platform.
