I just finished Olive Kitteridge; I liked it overall but had some mixed feelings. It was more a collection of interrelated short stories than a true novel.

Thanks for starting the new thread and posting the list of books. I can't believe it's June! There are several books on my wish list coming out this month.

I'm reading Nightwork by Nora Roberts, one of her better books I've read during recent history, and The Royal Governess by Wendy Holden, a story of Princess Elizabeth's childhood. Given that she's celebrating 70 years on the throne, it's interesting to learn some of her childhood. It's a fictional book that seems to be based on a lot of history.

I'm listening to Betwixt by Darynda Jones. It mostly gets on my nerves because I don't think it's very well written, but she's got a sense of humor, so I've kept going.

I just dumped two books because I hated them: Book Lovers and Very Nice. I rarely enjoy contemporary fiction and am going through a rough time and just couldn't get through either of these.

Now I'm reading Cilka's Journey (The Tattooist of Auschwitz #2) and like it. I recently read several memoirs as well and thought they were all good: North to Paradise, Lily's Promise: How I Survived Auschwitz and Found the Strength to Live, and Naomi Judd's memoir. :(

I just finished Still Missing by Chevy Stevens. Very good book with quite a surprise ending!

Has anyone read anything by Karin Slaughter?

I am giving up the newest Raeanne Thayne and Jennifer Weiner books. Both are just boring. Luckily I took them from the library.

I like Karin Slaughter. She has several stand alones, and she also has the Sarah Linton Will Trent series. I really like the Will Trent series. You should read those in order. I like her stand alone books too, but they can be more hit and miss. If you like crime procedurals then you'll like the Will Trent books, but I think all of her books are pretty good if you like the crime/mystery genre.

I just wrote a detailed post and got the Internal Error!! Agh. To be brief, she is one of my favorite authors and her books are excellent.
