I haven't had Reiki but I have had Reconnective Therapy which is similar. It was pretty amazing. It really helped with some anxiety I was experiencing. But, more amazingly, I had tweaked my knee a few days before and during the session, I felt it twitch and get warm when the practitioner moved her hands over it. At the end of the session, my knee was completely better and the twinge didn't come back! I hadn't even mentioned my knee to the practitioner.

I am a big believer in the healing power of touch as well and get massages when I can.

I am currently doing a 2 year medical gigong set of classes (thanks to VF that got me interested in qigong!). Similar in a lot of ways to Reiki and Healthy Touch energy work. I have seen and experienced many healings.

Pam, medical gigong sounds fascinating! It must be an intensive learning process.

Thanks everyone

It is intensive--3 packed hours every week and soon to start also 3 full day classes every other month. I do not plan to try to set up a practice, just work on myself/friends/realtives. I find it very interesting and expanding my life. Highly recommended if this might be of interest to you.

I used to do healing touch for free on cancer patients when I worked as a RN. It decreases pain, calms them, and helps them to sleep. It's very helpful.

I've never had a Reiki treatment, but I have had Healing Touch sessions and I always feel great afterwards.
