New to cardio...

I love lifting weights but I need some cardio...

Can we talk about cardio you love?

Something I can do daily without needing knee surgery...

Do you find it best to do something you love or do something like insanity? Are the results much better with insanity?

Thanks

I love walking, hiking, swimming, dancing, and kickboxing. I’m a strong believer in doing what I love for exercise instead of forcing myself to do something I hate.

I'm not too much of a fan of cardio (unless it's on my Jumpsport so puke-in-the-bucket workouts don't appeal to me at all!

If I feel I need to up my cardio (mainly for losing some vanity pounds), I tend to grab:
a) Leslie and/or Jessica S. walks (mostly in the 2 mile range, sometimes 3)
b) other Jessica cardio workouts (barre fusion)
c) Firm Zip Trainer

Like loverly7 already said, I too believe one should do what you love for exercise and not something you dislike and will most likely not stick with doing!

Good luck!

I love cardio and am really trying not to do it everyday. I feel the need to have my heart pounding and work up a good sweat. Cathe has some nice ones in her Low Impact series that are great and not jarring. Kelly Coffey Meyer has nice Low Impact ones too. Both offer Circuit workouts that throw in some weights as well. Perhaps Cathes 4 Day split would be a nice choice. Cardio and weights in 4 different workouts.

I was a cardio hater, but I like kickboxing, rebounding, and Jessica!

I'm not a cardio fan either, much prefer weight work or barre/pilates. However, outdoor walking is my favorite form of cardio, 45 minutes is my sweet spot. When it is too cold or rainy/snowy, I prefer Leslie walks. I do like KCM's kickboxing for cardio but not as much as walking. I also like circuit/metabolic type workouts for cardio because it is more bearable with the weight work included.

I hate cardio -- I'm so much better at toning and flexibilty work.

I do tolerate Leslie, in small doses. (Like, 1 mile at a time.)

I also don't mind kettlebell swings. They raise the heart rate without a lot of bouncing/jiggling, and they're still effective in short bursts. (Swing a bit, rest a bit, swing a bit, etc.)

I sometimes enjoy kicking and punching-type workouts. Cathe's KP&C was a favorite of mine for a while, as well as Weight Watchers Punch workout. As long as the choreography isn't too complex (but haven't done much lately).

Hula hooping.

(I also enjoy swimming and hiking but don't get to do them very often.)
