Wow thanks so much for the suggestions. Keep it coming! Did not know there were so many green tea drinkers. Yes green tea doesn't taste like much to me, so maybe mixing it with other flavors would be good. I would also like to cut back on caffeine but baby steps lol! I am down to one cup of caffeinated tea a day, but it is a big cup . Closer to the afternoon I will do a decaf tea. Does green tea have less caffeine than black?

I second the Yogi brand green teas and I also like the Equal Exchange brand. I find both of these organic brands at my local food cooperative, but they can probably be found in supermarkets that have larger varieties. I live in a rural area and there's not much variety of organic products (if any!) in regular grocery stores.

And to answer your question, green tea does have less caffeine than black tea.

Just FYI, when I started drinking green tea, I preferred the flavored ones, but now I enjoy the plain green tea just as much, if not more, than the flavored. Just saying that you might want to give the transition a little bit of time, if you aren't bowled over right away.

I am one that doesn't like plain green tea, maybe I have found one that tastes good.

I do like Harney and Sons Cinnamon spice green tea. I also like Harney and Sons Mint Verbena; and Peppermint Herbal.

I drink this now and again - Tazo Zen - green tea blend infused with crisp notes of spearmint, lemongrass, and lemon verbena.

My mother used to get naturally decaffeinated green tea so that should cover the caffeine situation. I'm not a huge tea drinker so I can't offer suggestions but she liked the Bromley naturally decaffeinated green tea.

I am a big tea drinker - both black and green. Yes, bubble, green tea has less than black (this is typical green tea, not matcha; matcha has more caffeine, similar to the levels in black tea). Green tea is typically 1/2 to 1/3 of the caffeine of a cup of black tea.

I also like loose leaf tea, as a pp has mentioned. You can also control the amount you put in for a stronger tea. For bagged tea, the Yogi Tea is very tasty. Traditional Medicinals also has a really good green tea - their green tea with ginger is a great fall drink. If you look on the side of their boxes, they tell you (in small print) how many mg of caffeine is in each of their teas. This is especially handy of you are really trying to watch your caffeine intake.

For busy mornings I really like Choice Organic Premium Japanese Green Tea. I buy it at my local organic coop and can usually find it in the natural food section of the regular supermarkets. It has a smooth and pleasing taste, and I prefer to purchase teas from Japan.

Since last year's gift exchange when I was gifted with an infuser and teas from Adagio, I've been converted to a loose leaf addict. Adagio, Harney & Sons, Rishi Tea and Republic of Tea are good mail order companies. Adagio has portion samplers available. Before you even get to teas that have chai and fruit flavors, plain green tea is offered in varietals such as sencha (what is in most supermarket teabags), bancha (gently roasted), genmaicha (with roasted rice) and more. Matcha has a lot of health benefits but is very high in caffeine.

I've never been a huge fan of green tea but really like the Harney & Sons Green Tea with Coconut in the purple tin. They have it at Target.

For pure taste - Tazo Zen Green Tea. It has lemon grass and spearmint in it.

For health - Super Strength Cleansing Tea, from https://getthetea.com/shop/super-strength/ - this is great stuff. It tastes good and keeps me regular.

Hope that this helps.

I don't like the taste of plain green tea but I've found a couple of flavored green teas that I like. My local market carries both.

I like Lipton Green tea Peach Paradise:

I also like Yogi Blueberry Slim Life green tea:
