I hope so much that these forums don't go. I cannot begin to tell you how useful and encouraging it's been to me. I've never paid, but coincidentally, I was just about to. I recently started a thread about my cervical spondolysis and everyone was so helpful. I decided that I need to support these boards. Oh dear. I'm worried now. I would miss everyone so much.

+1. I *puffyheart* love VF. In fact, I'm approaching my 10 YEAR VF ANNIVERSARY!

And to be honest, every other forum I've been on that's been updated -- the changes haven't always been good (new layout harder on the eyes) or they require tons of work to fix new bugs and issues. My thoughts on VF, to quote Mark Darcy: "I like you very much. Just as you are."

I've been married to VF for 20 years. I say "married" because, between good times and bad, train wrecks and unconditional support, I will always love this place.

I won't volunteer to be a moderator, because I know my severe limitations when it comes to interpersonal relationships, social skills and tactful replies...

A curmudgeonly moderator for sure!

One needs to know one's limitations.

I understand the "love" that most of you have for this site. However, maybe that's the problem. Sometimes it is good to not get too complacent with things, then the service goes down the tubes. Just saying, sometimes you need to raise a little stink before signing the check.

I agree. I had no idea that potential new members were unable to join the this forum!

That is my concern. I had no awareness of this until mentioning this forum to someone on Facebook. They responded they had been trying to join for years.

LOL- 23 for me, I think. I believe I got married to my husband after I became a member. I have 2 'adult' kids now (20 and 18)

Jeez, really? It’s a contribution of maybe $30 A YEAR to be a supporter? If it was $30 a month then that would be a completely different story, IMHO. I guess if I was here for bells and whistles I might complain more, but I’m here for the content and that won’t change with a fancier website.

And as an aside, it’s fine to disagree and it’s fine to complain. Disagreement doesn’t mean censorship as long as it’s respectful IMO.

I don’t think I would make a good moderator either 😝
