Create a heavy-bag boxing workout for me!

After watching the Biggest Loser and seeing how good that Kaylee girl is looking (from doing boxing) and reading some of the boxing threads here, I'm interested in doing some short boxing workouts using my heavy bag, but not following a video ( heresy!).

I'm asking you, my fellow VFers, to give me some suggestions for fun punch combos and series of combos. I'll try to use them all in my workout!

TIA!

Kathryn, if you don't mind following a CD, I would highly recommend Bas Rutten's MMA series. I didn't think I was going to be able to enjoy following a CD, but they're great. I am currently doing a Supreme 90 Day rotation, and add in a couple rounds of boxing or tae-boxing after some of the workouts.

I usually have a lot of fun and a surprisingly tough workout just by putting on some good music (heavy metal or classic rock works very well) and randomly hit/kick the living daylight out of the bag. You can throw a few burpees or jumping jacks in too. Sort of "Pit style".
Also, you could set your Gymboss, and do timed kicks and punches as well. Good luck!

I actually have it on order, but I was looking for some ideas in the meantime until I get it.

Hi Kathryn,

I put on a Turbo Fire dvd with the music pumped up option (just for the music)... or other fun music and come up with my own combos as i go along. I will do 30 jumping jacks.. then 30 squat to jump roundhouse kicks on one side then 30 jump ropes.. then 30 roundhouse kicks on the other side.. then a punch combo on one side (jab cross upper).. jump rope.. repeat other side.. then do 30 running man's and in to all upper cuts for 30so on. Have fun!

Any other suggestions for SPECIFIC punch combos anyone uses and finds fun? I was hoping for a no-brainer way of taking all the suggestions and putting them together.
