I am challenged by any choreography (even step), so any dance-based exercise is not for me. I tried Zumba on dvd and promptly returned it to Amazon. I have two left feet, kind of like Lucille Ball in the chorus line-lol

Don't like the DVDs mostly because of the music. I agree that the live classes depend on the teacher. The energy level also depends on the class. When there is a new class with only five people, it's not as fun. When there is a whole class full and the teacher is a good dancer with lots of energy, then I enjoy it more.

I stumbled across a you tube workout "hip hop zumba mo better me" that looks fun. I may try one out soon. They are 15 minutes each.
