I enjoyed Hozier's version. However, I'd have to say my all time favorite cover version of Bridge Over Troubled Water is Clay Aiken's on American Idol. Gives me chills every time! (at the 2:18 spot)

Lovely.

I have a 40-minute commute in a soft-top Jeep. I can barely hear the music from my mp3 player/radio so my mind wanders. One of my off-and-on trains of thought is about songs that should never be remade by anyone for any reason because the artists absolutely nailed it from the start. “Bridge Over Troubled Water” is the song that originally brought that to mind. Art Garfunkel killed it, but I have to say this guy did an excellent job. He kept true to the original but he does have an amazing voice.

I may have to rethink my position on remakes. Although I do think most of them are a waste of time.

Yes that was very nice. I’ve always loved Simon and Garfunkel. The song that always makes me cry is Chrissy Hinds (The Pretenders) “I’ll stand by you”. That came out when my brother was going through some stuff in life and my heart broke for him. He’s fine....but I still cry when I hear that song.
