What Did You Do for Your Best Cut/Defined Arms?

Hi,

I'm finally getting over some of my most recent injuries/falls and starting to be able to lift again after that nasty rib injury.

I was only able to do TA arm movements for 8 weeks while I healed (and walking).

I was just curious....to those that have gotten the best arms they've ever wanted - best to me means muscular but very cut and defined .....sort of like Karen Voight or the TA instructors, even Michelle Dozois' arms look good on her last DVD series.

Would you say I should lift heavier, lighter with more reps, do TA Arms only for a while, combine all?

What is that magic solution that is gonna make me look like I work out.

I'm working HARD at the diet part. It's been a struggle. I lost 20 pounds towards my 50 pounds goal but now I'm sort of stuck. Went on a lil' cupcake binge the last couple weeks.....but I'll get over it.. Sometimes when I find a new sweet (my weakness) I really like, I'll get a bit carried away. The bakery where i go has been making these cupcakes with tons of white icing and almonds and filled with bavarian/regular cream. They are the shishma!!!

Okay....sorry.....is that against the rules?

Anyway, I don't want cupcake arms.......so goodbye my loves!!

Honestly? Lost 26 pounds which got me back to a lean machine, Loads of functional lifting, smidge of UB weight bearing/5-6 minutes light hand weights when the urge strikes, T-Tapp for cuts, again, when the urge strikes. Not necessarily in that order.

1. Losing my extra weight covering my muscles.

2. Suzanne Bowen upper body work, especially all the planks! Body weight stuff has worked for me better than heavy weights. But I am a mesomorph.

TA. I never got great definition with her earlier workouts (like Mat Workout) so I don't think her standing arm work does much for me but all the work in plank/all fours in her Continuity DVDs gave me awesome results.

Jari Love, Pushups, and Cathe's Xtrain 100 rep challenges. I got really cut when I added in pushups.

me too.

i think you're on the right track as far as recognizing what you need to do - and gosh, a 20# loss is admirable!

for me, heavy lifting for arms works best. my arms are very responsive to lifting, compared with other trouble spots i have. as far as videos, the firm was the one that helped in that regard, and i can go back to it and still get results.
