Rheash92, I love the AB set, as Penny (hi!) said they are slower in pace and there are more form pointer which I found very helpful, I love using them on days when I just want to relax and get some blood flowing; a while back I was very sore from a weight lifting workout, and I did the mobility one (from the AB set) the next day, and felt pretty awesome when I was done! The next day I was ready to do my regular workout again, I love using the standing portion first and then the one that is floor work, which usually have nice stretches, it makes for a great 60 min. session.

Great!
They have good customer service! I received a glitchy DVD once and a scratched one another time, it arrived loose in the case. They replaced them both very promptly, no questions asked.

I'm curious, how do you all use these? Do you do them as a workout or as a stretch AFTER a workout? I'd like to have something like this specifically for a great stretch.

For me, it's very much a mix and match kind of thing.

An episode of CS is a great add-on, when I want to work out for a longer period. They're also good on their own, and sometimes I do one in the morning, one in the evening.

Since there are so many episodes with a specific focus, they're a good go-to for whatever it is I'm looking for.

I find it hard to dread them, so that's a big plus.

I have mostly used them on their own (I once did just CS for two months) or after another workout such as Leslie and now Jessica.
CS and Leslie on their own or together is my go to when I've been away from working out. And I certainly reach for specific CS episodes to work particular body parts when I'm in pain or need some extra stretching.

Pretty much all I do is Essentrics. I teach hour long, very toning based classes 3X/week right now. On the opposite days I do stretchier "stress" or "pain" relief episodes, Ultimate Stretch or Aging Backwards for Beginners.

I remember years ago when I bought the Express workouts, wanting a nice stretch. Wow was it more of a workout than I was expecting! CS/Essentrics is work....the closest I've found in any of the workouts to a "yummy stretch" is Ultimate Stretch.

I used to lift weights and I don't anymore. I just do Essentrics and walk. I throw in an Ellen or a barre workout for a "treat" every once and a while, more for interest than anything else.

I enjoy Miranda too but find her a bit ditsy, like the time in one of the Season 8s (I think) where she pronounces gastrocnemius gastro-na-mucki-ess. I've gotten used to pulling donkeys, bags of rice, and imaginary elastic bands.

I found myself scolding her this morning, though, when she was going on and on about "anti-aging" and people in their 20s not getting older and people in their 70s getting younger, etc. All the time doing the same movement over and over. I said "Miranda, stop yakking or I'm gonna Joni O you!" Also I get annoyed when she does moves unevenly or even forgets whole segments on one side.

But overall I have grown to really like CS and Essentrics, it has helped me too with pain relief and maintaining flexibility and balance in a way different from yoga. At almost 63 that's important to me!

I'm almost 49 but apparently, according to my surgeon, have the arthritic feet of an 80 year old. I enjoy CS very much and credit Miranda's exercises for helping me maintain my mobility despite the arthritis that is affecting much of my body. But, her dialogue about the anti-aging really grates. I have exercised every day for most of my adult life. I have always been a healthy 'clean' eater and I am careful about my lifestyle. Yet, autoimmune disorders including painful arthritis haunt me - so please, Miranda, don't tell people you don't need to feel pain, you don't need to age. That's just b.s. I do the exercises and they help immensely but they are not making the disease go away. I've expressed this opinion here before and I guess the response has been that she is speaking in general terms and a 23 minute segment doesn't allow for intense discussion. I agree but I really think she can plan her dialogue before her videos are shot. I mean, she has a script, she has a film crew - she has ways to censor and edit her speech. I continue on with her exercises since I've yet to find anyone who mixes these sorts of moves with quiet Classical/new age music but I wish she'd realize not everyone is coming to her program with disorders that can be cured. Every time someone says, "anti-aging" or "you don't need to feel pain", I wince.
