Travel Fit or Bodyweight & Bands

I want to get a band workout just to have something different for when I don't want to pick up my weights. Which of these do you like better and what do you like about it?

If you like a different band workout better than either of these, feel free to mention it.

Also, what length is the band that they're using? Any recommendations for latex free bands, tubing and loops are welcome, since I would need new ones.

Thanks!

Cathe band workout breakdowns

I haven't done Cathe's Travel Fit in ages but I when I did, I used a 6 ft green dynaband purchased from amazon (but dynabands contain latex). I remember it was nice when I was living in an apartment because I didn't have to worry about jumping around and making noise that the people in the apartment below might hear. It wasn't super hard/super intense though from what I remember compared to other Cathe's I was doing at the time.

These are breakdowns I already had written up for a post elsewhere on the forums. As you can see, Body Weight and Bands has more bonus material and includes premixes. Sorry I can't be of much more help as I haven't tried BW&B yet so can't compare it to Travel Fit.

I do band workouts on YouTube. I like Sydney Cummings. I am having knee issues. I am able to get a good workout in without squats and lunges.

I bought these: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07H4J8W..._dFAvDbJ2YG4X4.

They aren't as stretchy as the rubber ones. I am not sure if I like them yet. The good part is that they don't roll like the latex bands, but I don't get the range of motion that I had with the latex bands. I snapped my cheap latex bands so I will be forced to use these now. I am interested in other people's recommendations, too.

I love Bodyweight and Bands! Lots of premix options. I have Travel Fit, but I didn't remember it and when I just went to look it turns out I've never done it! I haven't chosen my workout for today so I will do it and report back. Thanks for the question and inadvertently your help!

Oh, for B & B I don't use tubing. I have one tube and it's in questionable shape and I'd rather not have it snap mid-workout. I use a 6 ft and 8 ft band depending on the exercise. One is a freebie I got from a workout and the other I got online from Power Systems. I have been improvising, I could use new bands and tubing myself.

Hi Susan,

I have both Travel Fit and Body Weight and Bands.

Sometimes, I think I end up not enjoying the video as much as I anticipated maybe not because of the quality of the video itself, but perhaps when the what video offers does not match my expectation, but maybe it is affected by what's in my tummy. But I did not enjoy Body Weight and Bands as much as I enjoyed Travel Fit for some reason. I don't know why.

I felt like Body Weight and Bands exercises were little more awkward and little less balanced (as far as which muscle groups you are working on) compared to Travel Fit.

With that said, I enjoyed the bonus Calorie Crush that comes with Body Weight and Bands very much!

I use this brand bands, and I love them. They are I think wider and also longer.

If you decide you want Travel Fit, I have one if you want to trade!

Ok I now have done Travel Fit. Here are my thoughts now about BW &B v Travel Fit.

Travel Fit: too much shoulder work, but that's not a surprise from Cathe.
some floor moves were different to me, and I believe effective
music is good, IMHO.
stretch much better than BW &B
cardio segments so brief and sporadic they seemed random
no premixes

Body Weight & Bands: premixes, many options
Calorie Crush is a good one and uses the band
music is okay, not a deal breaker one way or another
did I say premixes? That's essential to me lately.

I alternated among 4, 6 and 8 ft bands for these. Travel Fit uses a band with less tension than I used. Travel Fit doesn't use the loops.

So if I had to choose between the two? Hmmm each has strengths and I do like them both, but push come to shove BW & B has more versatility IMHO.

Travel Fit has more strength work; BB has a really fun cardio crush add-on. (I don't use the band for it-its hard enough as it is.)
Travel Fit uses only one band; BB you need 3 diff bands.
Both have abs.
Both have good stretches because BB has an extended stretch add on option
BB has premixes with lots of fun options. You can double the standing work or floor work to get more strength in if you want that.
BB really has a lot more flexibility I think overall.

I admit I am not a huge bands person, but did like BW & B quite a bit. I need to pull it out again. I just use a band though, and even subbed a dumbell for one exercise. I don't have tubing and don't really care for it anyway.

I have thought about getting Travel Fit but will just stick with BW & B, it's one of my favorites from the Lite set.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful comments. Because Bodyweight & Bands has premixes and the bonuses, especially the stretch bonus, it sounds like the better choice to me. I wonder why Travel Fit doesn't have any premixes?

Do you use light, medium, and/or heavy bands? Do you think it would be helpful to have a couple and would it be better to have light and medium bands or medium and heavy bands? I'm looking at these: Super Exercise Band USA 7 ft. Long Latex Free Resistance Bands

Thanks again!
