I just did dvd pilates bone smart for osteoporosis, and she states you shouldn't bend forward with osteoporosis,I just started doing CS again(as it always makes me feel good),but wondering if it's okay with all of the stretching, bending etc?

Hi Mandie,

I don't know what dvd you were doing. I think the most important thing with CS/Ess is when you're doing any frontal flexion or have the arms in front you need to keep the tailbone tucked under to protect your lower back.

I highly recommend Seasons 11, 12 or Miranda and Sahra's "Forever Painless" dvds for gentle workouts.

HTH.

If you have osteoporosis, bending forward with a round back can break bones in your spine. You can bend forward with a flat, straight back, bending at the hips. This is how you bend while doing a deadlift.
