I didn't know kegels were bad. Why? I don't want to become incontinent as I get older.

It has to do with the tension in the PF. There is a point where the muscle gets so chronically tight that it becomes weak because the sarcomeres are so close together they cannot contract and generate any more force. The PF needs to be supple, able to release for elimination, childbirth and orgasm, but able to contract as needed when the loads demand it (ie. jumping). This is why you see a lot of women peeing when they jump.

High impact exercise worked for me. The muscles seemed to get stronger and I no longer had the feeling that I had to pee if I kept working out (jumping jacks, trampoline, etc). And I didn't do a lot of high impact either.

I heard kegels were bad as well. Getting on the trampoline in a mommy and me gymnastics class was the best therapy for me.

I couldn't find Katie's original blog about pelvic floor, but I found this article paraphrasing what Katie wrote:
http://breakingmuscle.com/womens-fit...-women-and-men
For myself, I found practising hanging out in a relaxed low squat (bum on heels) helped me figure out how to relax that area and stop unconscious gripping and tension.

Linda, is your baby sleeping any better?
Yes, I changed formula and the dr gave her baby zantac and she's a new baby.
Thanks for asking!

For some reason I was thinking that high impact might help (but slowly at first!) I'm gonna try it!

I'll try that one! Thanks

I've been wondering about you too! I know how hard and lonely it is to have a fussy baby . I'm so glad I opened this thread now
