Can't vote but I have 1-2
Number 1 is my knee - torn meniscus that I never got fixed. Number 2 (possible) - is my sciatic nerve, but I've found I can keep that in check if I stretch appropriate.

Can't vote, either, but I posted about my woes in another thread:
Achilles tendonitis + some plantar fascitis in both legs/feet. (I'll count this as one). Tendonitis in the biceps/triceps and shoulder SI joint that flares up frequently And an inflamed tailbone that is frequently painful. Four?

1. R shoulder
2. Rods in back from scoliosis surgery so I'm not flexible there & need to be careful in general 3. PF in L foot--hasn't flared in over a year, thankfully. What amazes me about this thread is how many of us VFers have multiple wonky parts & we keep on keepin' on, working out like champs! Yay, us!!

I think it's a good idea to have a realistic sense of what your body is capable of.
For me, my plantar fasciitis reminds me every day that my body needs routine upkeep. Flexibility and strength in my feet, legs and hips are key components of keeping this in check. The achy place I get sometimes in my low back is a reminder to keep working on a strong core. When I'm strong, it doesn't ache. My hands and arms ache sometimes if I over do it. Clutching an armload of goodies with my purse holding arm/shoulder, while wandering the discount store? Guarantees my forearm and bicep will ache, and my arthritis in my hands might speak up at some point too. This mostly reminds me not to use my left arm for so much heavy lifting. Balancing the load between arms (and, duh, using a buggy while in the store) really helps prevent the problem. Oddly enough, kettlebell work seems to be theraputic for all these issues, so yay for working out! |

I tried voting yesterday & thought maybe it had worked?
Put me down for four. Both knees, probably arthritis & poor tracking. As we increased our hiking mileage & pack weight my left hip has been talking more & more. So more stretching & rolling. Number 4 is my left little finger gnarled by arthritis. It bothers me most of all & is the result of getting older. Beats the alternative. It gets aggravated by my hiking poles & dog leash especially.
