Positive self-talk or pep talks
When you don't feel like working out or feel like bailing before a workout is complete, what tricks do you employ or things you tell yourself to get it done?
Last night when I ran it was after 6:30 PM, 82 degrees, 87 real feel and I think 65% humidity. I am a total snowgirl and hate temps over 65. I was only a mile in when I found myself giving my usual pep talk that normally comes around 4 1/2 miles: you got this, you can do it! I did finish the run, drenched in sweat but proud of myself.
The things that make me keep going are that little affirmation, listening to Twins baseball or Zombies Run when I run. Other times I hear Tony or Chalene telling me I can do it, sometimes I think about how many games the Twins play without a day off or how Kid Rock puts on high-energy shows night after night and I think surely, I can finish this workout.
So far I'm not so good with the stuff to make me not blow off workouts if I'm feeling lazy though.
What gets you moving and keeps you pushing forward?

You don't have to be fast, just keep moving forward.
Note to self: You don't get to complain about things you won't work to change!
