I did 10 of the 12 weeks but stopped due to the incredible aches (and boredom). I got very strong-- doubled my overhead press and deadlift-- but the heavy weights and reliance on overhead work did not make my shoulders happy.
I also did not lose any sizes and my shoulders got so large that I had a hard time getting into some of my shirts. |

Yes Beth, I remember wondering why you foam rolled before the workouts too, didn't make sense. My shoulders didn't bother me, but my knees and wrists definitely complained.

I have the D2S set, but have never done a rotation. I actually like the long mobility and foam-rolling warm-up. It really prepares the body for the work to come. (Um, especially if you are older like me...) I usually foam roll before any weight work.
I took a class once with Cassidy Phillips (Trigger Point Therapy) where we learned that foam-rolling before strength exercises makes the muscles warmer and better able to execute the moves. I find this to be true for me personally, though YMMV. As for the set, I really didn't like most of the exercises. And her constant yammering was too annoying. She has kind of a whiny voice. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm one of the few who liked this program and am doing it again right now, but it does have pushup and plank type exercises in nearly every workout, so not a good choice if you want to avoid those.
I eliminated the foam rolling as it doesn't do anything for me, and I cut the reps on the RAMP to 6-8 depending on how my joints feel that day.

when I did this set, I had the same issue with lots of foam rolling in the beginning.
it made me wonder why she did this format for women and not for men. it should be the same, right? I understand that men would probably lift heavier, etc, etc, but the foam rolling right out of the gate just for this D2S program aimed at women seemed inconsistent with what Rachel designed in other programs.

I have dusted these off and think will try to get the rotation a shot. I really want to develop strength and I like how it appears you can lift heavy with these. I do have a question, while reviewing the Phase 1 dvd's how is week 4 supposed to go? These look like the same workouts as week 1-3 but just longer???
