Kelly is tired of "barbaric" workouts

In case you are not FB friends with her, Kelly Coffey Meyer said she is tired of barbaric workouts that beat you up. I don't know what the rules are on quoting Facebook, but it was a very interesting post and a lot of thought-provoking comments underneath.

I think this will get you to her FB page:

More then barbaric workouts she was questioning where all these "Extreme" workouts were coming from. It is her belief that these workouts are not good for all people but the developers don't say that they are more for advanced/athletes to begin with.

Rose did she use the word "barbaric"? I only read the "Extreme" comment.

Odd. I can see quite a few things on her page, including her own posts. Not that one, though. Someone should ask her if it can be copied and pasted here.

Good Grief...when will this barbaric "Extreme" training end?
The least they could do is put a true disclaimer on them "These workouts are designed for competitive athletes or those under 30 years of age"!
It all looks great in the expensive infomercials, but I wish they would stop worrying about the almighty buck and be true to fitness! First of all, its supposed to be a lifestyle and not a temporary goal...and with a huge portion of the population being in the Baby boomer generation...whats the goal really?

I applaud her for saying this. A couple years ago I made a vow not to buy anything marketed as extreme or insane because I was buying sets ( at a high cost) that I was just doomed to fail at- I also felt like a failure for not being able to do the workouts but the older people showcased as successes in the infomercials were fitness trainers that had been in the field, not ordinary people like me.
