Total Max Mixers - Week of Dec 8

Starting the new week out.

No workout on Friday. My sister called just as I was about to get ready to do my workout. I figured she we would be talking a while so I started walking around my house while on the phone and got 4000 steps in by the time we were done and no time left to workout. Yesterday did not feel like doing a workout but did talk myself into doing Jenny Ford Step Across America Colorado Step.

Vannie - I love Country Heat and I’m not really a country music fan but I find it really fun. I like it better than YouV2 but do enjoy that too. I had Cize and while I did like it, I have no rhythm and rarely wanted to do it so I traded it at the time....but I often think about trying to get it again.

JBliff - I’m with you.....I don’t walk outside if it’s below 40 either!

Karen - Hope you are enjoying your trip!

Hi all. My workout yesterday was 45 minutes on the elliptical.

Cher
- Wow, 4000 steps while on the phone is pretty good!

Waves to all. Have a great day.

Hi guys. Had a great time during my 4 days in Boston. Got to see snow and visit Lexington where the Revolutionary War started. Also went to the New England Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, and Fenway Park. It was cold but not too bad and we did a lot of walking. I got home yesterday and went to Orange Theory tonight.

Cher we were outside for 5-6 hrs in Boston and Lexington with real feel temps of
25 degrees! We did take a nice lunch break indoors and we rode the bus which was blissfully heated. We were bundled up well.

It’s good to be back.
Hope everyone had a good Monday. Kareng

Cheryl, if I remember right, think you were the one who pushed me over the edge to get Country Heat! I've seen many people talk about Jenny Ford Step/March Across America. Are they DVDs or YouTube or what. Walking workouts, step?

JBliff, do you mix it up on the elliptical and go backwards too? I tend to do a minute or two forward and then the same backwards and keep alternating.

Karen, glad you had a good time in Boston. I don't remember if you said, had you been there before?

Hi, Gibbee!!

Yesterday I made mini red velvet bundt cakes for a Christmas supper with friends tonight. I had never made or even eaten bundt cake before but I think they turned out pretty good. This afternoon I finally worked out for the first time since Tuesday. I did XTrain Super Cuts premix 8 which had much more cardio effect than I expected! That was a virgin and so was the Virtual Active American Northeast Hike I did next on the treadmill with my backwards walking to finish it off. Last I did TurboFire Stretch 10, still one of my very favorite stretches.

Hi all. My workout Sunday was a 90-minute brisk walk with DH on our local river trail. Monday's was LITE upper body full pyramid premix.

Vannie - I do go backward and forward sometimes on the elliptical, but mostly I use the built-in programs that add hills and intervals. Occasionally I use Cathe's cycling DVDs for something different.

Karjoy - Welcome back. I'm glad you enjoyed Boston.

Waves to Gibbee and Cher. Have a great day, everyone.

JBliff, I haven't tried any of the programs on my elliptical yet. I wish there was a way I could find out what they are before doing them so I at least knew how long they are but there doesn't seem to be. I also wish mine inclined but it was a gift from hubby's work so can't complain about free!

My lower body was sore already getting out of bed this morning! Super Cuts rocks!

Today was XTrain Hard Strikes premix 16, VA Sierra Nevada 2 Hike on the tm with the same 10 min of backwards walking at the end and then the Strong Knees stretch. My booty and quads were talking to me!

Vannie: Your cooking and workouts sound awesome! You are a go-getter, let me tell you.

Cher: How's Joseph doing? I hope Cathe's right and they ship next week. I'm starting to look forward to seeing these new workouts in person.

JB: I love the Lite pyramid workouts.

Karen: Saw your FB pics. Looks like an awesome trip. Wondered how you liked the cold.

Check in: I really am still alive. Crazy busy at home and work. This is my 'pressure cooker' week when I have multiple meetings to either run or organize and this year I am adding a presentation to 120 or so folks on Thursday. Haven't written it yet. Yay! No, not really yay, LOL... trying to stay positive because tonight I burned a piece of paper (from where??? I have no idea) on the 'new' stove (less than 1 year old) and in the process of swiping the burning (yes, burning) paper away I melted some of the towel (a microfiber one) onto the glass surface. OMG - SO MAD!!!! Spent an hour and a half scrubbing and soaking and scrubbing... looks better but not 100%. Can still see some of the pattern. So talk about adding stress to the evening. DH had planned for me to go to bed early. Ha. It's 9:15 and I haven't even started getting ready for tomorrow, much less working on the presentation or enjoying some downtime. I won't be home much again until Thursday evening. Sigh...

On the plus side, after multiple phone calls I finally got him in to see a cornea specialist. He needs it for his eyes... if I can see the scratches on the cornea with my naked, middle-aged eyes with my progressive glasses sitting on top of my head, it is an issue. He goes in Friday... sure beats mid January!!!

Working out some - although between some various events my sciatica (or lumbar area - not sure which) has gone crazy. I have lax SI joints, which I know. I've had tightness in the muscles in my low back, so what. But this time I actually had a pop the other night that nearly sent me crashing to the floor on my knees. I could hardly take a step for a minute. Now I have occasional glute pain on the right and shooting nerve / muscle weakness on the left hamstring, inner thigh. Saw primary yesterday and had x-rays today to see what they can see. Started steroids, muscle relaxant and anti inflammatory and it is helping a lot. Thank goodness!

Missed you guys!!! Will check back later.

Yesterday DH and I went to see the new Mr. Rogers movie. It was really good and thought provoking. We had to run errands afterwards so I didn't have much time to work out. I just did 35 minutes on the elliptical.

Gibbee
- My goodness, you are doing so much! You really need some time just for yourself. Hugs to you. I'm glad your DH has you in his corner.

Vannie
- Your elliptical doesn't come with a manual? Can you search for it online? Supercuts does pack a lot in a short amount of time.

Hi to Cher and Karjoy. Have a great day, everyone.

Gibbee, my goodness! Has your whole year been as crazy as things are right now?? I hope you're able to take some downtime to just breathe and sip a cup of hot tea or smthg!

Jbliff, my elliptical did come with a manual but I think it just tells how to put it together and explains the controls but I'll look again.

Waves to Cheryl and Karen!

Today was supposed to be bis and tris but I got a flu shot today so decided might not be the best plan, especially since my biceps are sore from yesterday bc I did the first 12 minutes of Hard Strikes with 2# wrist weights. When she started doing jumping jacks I said no way to the weights! I should get on the treadmill to get miles in but not sure if I will. I'm doing a MapMyRun challenge to walk/run/hike 1019 km in 2019. After last night I am at 900 km. I know over the holiday week i won't be able to get as much in as I'd like. I should have met the goal a long time ago but I was kind of a slacker for a while and then losing Chianna was so hard to find any motivation. I tried to not include dog walks but had to start counting Cyric's walks in September. I'd love to join again in 2020 if they repeat it but I would approach it differently and set a monthly target to shoot for instead of just checking my total now and then. At this point I'm checking it daily! Elliptical and snowshoeing don't count for some reason. I changed my snowshoeing workout type to hiking so they would count. Anyway. My quads, hams and glutes are still sore from Monday.
