October 2020 Add 'em up Goals & Habits Challenge!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily life goals work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

**Take this challenge however you wish. I used to total my points all the time but have fallen away from that and now just track my goals. There really are no rules, your challenge is your own, we're just here for support and to help each other with accountability. We would love to have you join us!

I meant to get all my October stuff ready yesterday but the Twins game started at noon so pregame was at 11, which is when we got back from our walk. After we lost the game which knocked us out of postseason play I was honestly just crabby and depressed. I hadn't realized how much I was using baseball to avoid hard feelings, despite all the meditation stuff I've been listening to (and nodding along with) about learning to sit with hard feelings. I ended up baking cookies and eating I think 7 of them. I miss my mom and today is a year already that Chianna has been gone so I'm just having a rough patch. I know it will pass so I'm just holding onto the rollercoaster. Today is a new day and I won't eat 7 more cookies.

29 degrees this morning! I knew there was a frost advisory but I still wasn't expecting it.

I've had a rough week. I didn't realize how much I was using baseball to avoid feelings. I'm feeling sad and anxious and have had headaches most days this week. I did workout some. I did Classical Stretch (still can't get into this) or yoga every morning before breakfast and the only other thing I can remember right now was CLX Burn Circuit 2 on Tuesday. I baked cookies after the Twins were eliminated from playoffs bc I was so depressed. Yesterday I made sausage rolls for my father-in-law.

I have got to get my goals set today and spreadsheet printed.

I'm sorry, Vannie. Sending a hug your way. Maybe there is a show you can stream to replace Baseball? I find that helps me a lot. It's been two and a half years since Jesse has been gone, and I still choke up.

I did another of Jessica's older dvd's, Cardio Abs, the Transformer Strength workout. Harder than I remembered!

Sherry, thanks. I actually think I need to take a step back and deal with it. The grief of losing my moms is going to hit me whether I want it to or not. I think I need to try to let it come, even though I know how easy it would be for me to hide behind horror movies right now instead of baseball. I find myself dreading Christmas bc it's going to be so emotional but maybe if I deal with some of the emotions now it will be less painful then and I can spend time remembering all the good times.

Vannie, after my dad passed away, I experienced lots of headaches and felt out of sorts too. At some point it lifted, and yes, you will remember. She will always be your ray of sunshine! Hugs to you!
