Losing inches and not necessarily weight

If you were trying to lose inches and get slimmer what kind of workouts would you focus on? I'm not concerned about weight loss. Thanks!

Heavy strength workouts do it for me. When I think about doing them, people ask me if I've lost weight...

I can't do heavy, kills my joints, so cross training does it for me - kettlebells, swimming with hand paddles & fins, & Classical Stretch/Ellen Barrett style workouts. I have definitely lost inches, especially in my waist.

I had my greatest inch loss in my lower body by doing a lot of Cathe's Low Impact Series. It slimmed my legs. I also had some inch loss doing a Prescriptives rotation from ART/Teri Walsh. Those two gave me the biggest bang for my buck on shrinkage. I did lose a couple pounds with ART, but it was the workouts that really brought the inch loss.

Just plain walking does that for me.

For me, it's barre. Heavy lifting makes me look puffy. I think it's really highly individual, and you kind of have to experiment to see what works for you.
