Sorry, I really didn't mean it to come across that way.

I love this forum and don't think any of the other places suggested would be able to replace it. I just wanted to know if there was some kind of lifeboat that people would naturally scramble to in case one day the site went down permanently for any reason. I didn't want to be left out of the loop because I'm not on facebook and don't have contact info for most of the members here, if that makes any sense.

Edited to add: I'm glad WWWendy will be checking in tomorrow and sorry if I started a panic!

I’m still a VF supporter too and I love this forum. Hoping we hear from Wendy soon and I’m still willing to help out with moderating if needed.

Sorry, I wasn't specifically responding to any one person!
I totally get what you're saying, though. I used to belong to a makeup forum that suddenly closed one day (hissy fit from the brand creator). Other than 1-2 people I'd friended on FB, all those connections were lost.

I visit VF daily also. We've definitely been slow lately but still going along so I don't see any reason to panic that's it's closing down. Most of us weren't even aware of the moderator situation and the inability of new people to join. So hopefully that can be resolved and we can just continue as we've always done. I do like the new activity recently though

its's a shame or sad that people just take a sentence and run with it. No one said it would be shut down.

Enough people. We just want active moderators to let people in and let people know about inappropriate posts.

We have done great, at least to me. i've been here a number of years and it also is my reading fun. I'm addicted.

So, kill those thoughts of negative energy.

Well, not to cause friction here, but what is everyone paying for? The "owner" isn't present and this forum could use a fresh appearance. I mean, the home screen still has Hillary Burnett article. How old is that?? Seems that if you pay a fee for this site, you should get more than an absent moderator and 1990's forum. I do understand the cost to maintain a site, but apparently she doesn't care enough to bring this into this century. Just my thoughts. I won't pay to use this site. It's just an extension of my favorite hobby.

Woman, I have said this since 2006 when I joined.. Not one thing changes. Stickes haven't been updated. same color. Nothing. Didn't mean to spit this out but it evidently is on my mind. All I've heard is of her paying to keep the site working. I asked for more features. Like being able to tag someone.. I guess they believe that if it ain't broke don't fix it. Even when I joined she was not that interested in getting a up-dated site

I visit this site almost daily. I have never paid the fee, but I am definitely willing to consider it if it ensured the site would be updated and properly maintained.

It may sound silly to love a message board so much, but being a VF member really has changed my life for the better. There are so many yogis and workout instructors I wouldn't have known about. My check-ins have kept me accountable over the years and I've met some great people. The big thing is the motivation, and chatting with like-minded people. There are so many days I'm down in the dumps, worried, and would just put my workout by the wayside and continue being mopey. Then I remember my check-in peeps and a little voice says "get off your rump!"

Personally the stickies and old front page don't bother me - I don't even look at that. I just go to New Posts.

I hope Wendy visits and we get the moderator volunteers on board. Let's be kind to them!
