You can see the clip at beyondbarre.com. It still looks good and the glide board looks like fun. Hope they come out with a DVD. They claim they are planning one.

I am beyond jealous. I am nearly navy with jealousy. I have wanted a slide for years. I've even considered paying retail for it.
I don't get to thrift stores much. I've got a ridiculously demanding, badly paying job, so I don't have much free time or cash for recreational shopping. I only go to stores when I need something.
But if you say slides show up quite frequently, maybe I need to start going. Ack.

I still have a slide, but haven't used it in ages. My kids love it, and sometimes I pull it out for them. I'm not sure why I haven't used it; I have about six workouts for it and they're all pretty good, but I guess it's just easier to pull out something I'm already set up for. Maybe I'll try to do a slide workout this week...

Well, I have an ancient Reebok slide and the VHS instructional is with Nancy Kerrigan! (Yes, I bought it new) It is boring and I didn't know there were actual workouts for it since I acquired it WAY before I knew about VF but I would be all over a barre slide workout. I will have to unroll the thing to see if it still has a finish on it!

Congrats on the awesome thrifting!

We have a slide that we bought new back in the day. It came with a VHS by one of the super models--I can't remember which one. I still have the VHS, still have the booties and the slide. I have tried to let DH to let it go for years now, but he refuses. It is never used, but DH cannot part with it. I even had someone PM me awhile ago asking to buy it from me.

Maybe I should get it out and try it again. Or not. lol Maybe I should set it up so DH and DS can use it, because they both probably would if it were out and accessible.

Great deal!

Wow, the Beyond Barre glide board looks a lot shorter than I remember mine being. I'm sure mine's close to 6' long. Will have to measure.

For those that haven't used it for awhile. I keep mine hanging on the wall to remove the perma-roll. At first it tried to maintain some roll but eventually it hung straight. Also, prior to using I spray with pledge a wipe clean. I also only put on the booties as I step onto the slide. I try to never have the booties step off the board, the small dirt particles they can pick up can scratch the slide.

To prevent the movement of the board, I'll put my 20 & 25 lb hexagonal dumbbells on the outside of each end. Having the slide on a yoga/ 3/4" mat helps too.

To change things up, I sometime hold a hockey stick as I "skate". I'll also put a puck (or tennis ball) out in front of me and try to slowly control the puck as I slide back & forth. I am not vey good (nor have never played anything other than street hockey) but it adds a difficulty and variety factor.

That siad, if anyonei f interested in trading/sharing their slide workouts, I'd love to check them out. I've only got the Reebok Basic workout. How many are ther actually?

You know, I would love to find one of these. I remember going in a sporting good store back in '93(?) and falling in love with the one they were selling. My boy friend at the time thought I was kooky. I'd love simulating the whole speed skating moves - it has to be good for your legs!
