6 Foot or 8 Foot Slide Board

I'm thinking about getting a slide board. Which would be better? The 6 foot or the 8 foot for someone who is 5' 7". Does length really matter?

I think you'll be better with the 6 foot. I have one that is older and it's a reebok one, but it is stuck in the farthest place and I cannot move it. It's too far apart and it's harder to get the cardio effect with it. You want to be able to get to each side without a problem.

I had a choice between a 4' and 5' board. I am 5'6. I chose the 5' board and ended up returning it. I couldn't slide across the entire thing. I wished I would have chosen the 4' board.

Mine is adjustable, and I keep it at the shortest setting, 5 feet.

Get an Adjustable one

I have a adjustable one to..I mostly use it in the 6ft mode, I'm 5'9, however, it's good to know I can move it over to 8ft for more intensity, Slide boards are great for the lower body

I have an adjustable one, I'm 5'3" with short legs and keep it at 6 feet. It's difficult sometimes but it's a great workout! I think 8 feet is way long for anyone.

I too have been thinking about getting a slide board in anticipation of the BeyondBarre dvd. That was a good question and I was curious also. The other question is where did you get yours and what kind did you get. I wonder if BeyondBarre will be offering some kind of package that would include a slide board with their dvd. It looks like a lot of fun and something different--at least for me.

I have the older Reebok one, I'm 5'8" and I think it's 5'ft, that is a perfect length for me. I found mine at a thrift store. I also just recently saw a Denise Austen slide board at the Goodwill. Maybe this new barre set will spark a new trend, I would love to have some dvds to use with my slide board.
