I am LATE to the competition kettlebell...but...

bought the 16kg Ader Competition kettlebell and LOVE IT.

The feel is just different from the standard kettlebell. I did 20 minutes of swings and am wiped out. I love the fell of this kettlebell so much, I am thinking of replacing some of my other bells with this competition style.

Any others out there swinging with the competition bells?

Complete opposite for me. I only have a 35lb bell in both competition and regular and I can't stand my competition bell... I'm glad you're loving it, and mine isn't an Ader so that may make a difference as well.

That's fun when you find something new! But I have to say like Sue, I can't stand mine either. I have the 16kg from RKS and I just can't get used to it. I only use it for suitcase deadlift type moves, but if I ever get around to selling off the bells I don't want, that will be one of them.

Interesting to hear!

I've never had the chance to try that style, will keep it in mind.

For me, the competition bell rests on a very painful portion of my forearm (nerve near the skin?) and every bell hits that same spot as it's why they are competition bells. With the regular bells, the forearm contact place varies with the bell size - that's what makes it more comfortable for me.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a place that carries competition bells locally, and I do not want to pay shipping on one.

I have two American-style Aders and five competition bells. I still prefer my tiny 8kg Ader for just playing around. I think that's because that bell is what I used when I fell in love with kettlebells.

It took a very long time for me to switch over, and I'm still not smooth. I think it's better for form's sake to use the same physically-size bell. To be honest, though, if I had my way I would secretly add weight to my baby Ader and only use it. LOL

Overstock.com sells very good quality competition bells at a excellent price (after researching actually one of the cheapest)
plus free shipping and no sales tax

I bought my latest 16kg from overstock.com and I'm very happy with the quality of the bell. Professional, packed and fast shipping. I got my bell within 5 days after I placed my order.

bee1 --- I went ahead and ordered one this morning. If I like it, I'll order another one.

The ones I'm using now are fine but the unsanded handles are really rough on my hands--getting calluses like I had when I was a rower!!

Thanks so much for passing the word along about this source.
