Shoe Recommendation

I've been doing a lot of line dancing indoors and outdoors on concrete floors, usually for 2 to 3 hours a session. Currently I wear a pair of Bloch split sole jazz shoes which have a heel. My feet have started complaining and I think it may be because of the heel. I need shoes that have support and will allow me to pivot. I also do a little spinning. I think this would be similar to doing Zumba on concrete floors. I am hoping Zumba and dance lovers have some comfortable but supportive shoe recommendations. I was wondering if cheer-leading shoes would be a possibility.

Oooh, this is a good question. I'd like to know too.

I don't know if the Bloch's you're wearing now are like ones I had back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but I would suggest to search Amazon for "split-sole dance sneakers" for some other options to look at. They support while still allowing articulation in the feet and the like, and many have more of a sole than the Bloch's I'm thinking of.

I got myself a pair of this type of shoe because I do a LOT of barre type workouts and was having issues with my feet from other higher impact stuff that I needed to calm down. I LOVE these shoes and find they have helped tremendously.

Hope that helps!

This is the model I have used for several years but now they seem to bother the tops of my feet above the arch. They are split sole. They are great for non concrete floors.

Tammie, those look nice but sorry they bother your feet! My only other suggestion would be to try a similar shoe in another brand and see if they don't bother your feet. And/or maybe the Bloch's have worn out and are therefore bothering your feet?

Keep us posted!!

I just took a change and ordered a pair of Fuego Dance Sneakers. They claim to be suitable for most floors including concrete. Hopefully they will live up to their advertising. When I was reading the reviews someone had written that they wore these to the last line dance event that I attended and said good things about them. Of course that was not on a concrete floor. I had worn my Blochs and my feet were a little tired but I had no serious issues.

I'll let you know in a few weeks if these shoes match the advertising.
