Working out with resistance bands while car passenger?

We're going on a very long road trip soon to take my dd to college. I was thinking about bringing resistance bands to do some upper body work while DH is driving. Has anyone done this before? Seems like it would work for some exercises, but not sure if it's worth trying. Our van will be crammed with very little leg room. I doubt I'll have time to work out while we are gone and I'm not comfortable using the gym anyway now with covid concerns, so I thought it would be good to try since I'm stuck in the van anyway.

I've taken a Pilates Ring for in-car exercises. Worked fine.

I mean, it could work probably. But honestly, I'd take the time to enjoy the trip. Maybe play some road trip games or listen to something with DD. If it's only a couple of days, you probably won't lose much fitness.

We'll actually be gone for over a week and will have plenty of car time together (18 hours each way). I can still chat with her while I do a resistance band workout in the passenger seat!

I hate long road trips. I am afraid to drink anything because of the lack of restrooms (especially due to covid) and am thirsty and panicked about the bathrooms and uncomfortable the whole time.

Looonnng drive! I hate long car trips! Maybe isometric holds/presses would do better than bands...then there's no chance of accidentally hitting the driver!

I have overactive bladder, so I hear ya on the bathrooms!

Any ideas for the isometric holds/presses? Or should I just do a search?

Yes, overactive bladder for me, too.

This guy has a few short videos with examples. They look relatively easy to replicate in car: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kHLpke3L3m0

I think isometric workouts is an option.

Wishing you safe travel to your destination and back home.

Once on a long road trip my husband and I brought along a frisbee, a ball and glove, and a football. We would stop now and then in a park or at a rest stop and play catch in a grassy area. It was just something to get us up and moving now and then. I think that would be safe covid-wise because you would be outdoors and by yourselves. You can also fit in a few jumping jacks or whatever.
