We enjoyed Laurel Canyon more because it had more footage/photos of the actual artists. If you like "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" you should see the documentary on The Wrecking Crew, which is about the studio musicians that played on a ton of albums released in the 1960s and 1970s. I think that one is on Netflix.

Thanks for posting about the Go-Go's doc on Showtime! I watched it last night and learned a lot I didn't know. I had no idea they came from a punk background or about the partying. I was in HS when they came on the scene and I started playing drums at that time, when there weren't a lot of girls doing that. Very cool.

The 70th birthday celebration for him is on his website. We are watching it now. It is excellent. I am looking forward to seeing Brandi Carlile. Adam Sandler sounded just like Tom! Stevie Nicks' letter to Tom was so heartfelt.
