Thumbs up I did my first ever Susan Powter workout...

Building Strength Susan Powter (1994)

I enjoyed it! I modified a bit. It was nice to do a weight workout that goes at a moderate pace so I can go heavy. Her cuing and form pointers are good. No wacky/trendy moves. She does a proper warm-up and does proper stretches in between exercises.

Upper body is first, then lower so you can do a split. I didn't find her annoying tho' others might.

I think I might have had one of her videos at one time--or maybe I borrowed one from Netflix (remember when Netflix had exercise DVDs???). I guess I wasn't too impressed with the workout, however I do remember seeing her on talk shows and thinking how nice, professional, and knowledgeable she seemed.

I might re-try some of her old workouts now. Thanks for reminding me, and posting.

Well I was just checking for my oldest VHS to post on the other thread and I found a Susan Powter VHS that I forgot I had. It's Burn Fat and Get Fit from 1994. I don't remember where I picked it up, but I think I only did it once. It's basic step moves with weight work. My notes on the back say "tons of motivation".

I always liked her TV show too.

That was my review! I forgot that I reviewed that one so long ago. I no longer have the workout but should maybe revisit on YT, it's a good basic weight workout.

Thanks for the blast from the past!

I remember reading her books. Went to a local bookstore to get her to sign one and they cut off the signing right before me! I think I had a few of her videos. Stop the Insanity!

I remember the infomercials well. I was already working out, so the message didn't speak to me. She was/is definitely unique!

Susan had a rough time after the initial success:
