Before the pandemic I used to do an in person yoga class once a week. At the end we had 15 minutes of meditation. I always got into legs up the wall for that. Did I notice any extra or long term benefits? I didn't, but that's not to say they didn't happen -- I'm sometimes clueless about my body. But what it did do is get me into a nicely relaxed position for meditation and I think made the meditation "easier" -- though perhaps the yoga itself also helped with that. Gosh, I had forgotten about this. Meditation lately has not been the same and I kept thinking it had more to do with sounds around me or whatever.... maybe I need to get back to legs up the wall meditation!!

Can I just say how much I love this thread?
Thank you all for the tips, links, and other resources. I've been doing this pose on and off for years, but now I'm going to make a conscious effort to do it more regularly, hopefully daily.

Omgosh, yes! I missed this comment until just now. This is perfect! I've been trying to do both each night.


Also, this thread round-about led me to the world of meditation music and nature sounds on YouTube. So instead of setting a 10-min timer, I now listen to waterfalls or fires crackling!
