Yep, I do this. I also found a 2-month free trial for kindle unlimited, and have been using that.

(In all honesty, I don't need the library: I have hundreds of books available at home...and I tend to be a rereader...)

This. I do really miss it. DS and I both go together, and he picks out a whole bunch, as do I and sometimes we just sit there and read for awhile.

A big non-essential essential for me is chocolate. I have a piece of dark chocolate every day and I savor it. No one in the household wants to be around me w/o my chocolate.

Yes, this is it exactly! Plus, my girls do social activities at the library (teen hangout/games weekly, Dungeons & Dragons monthly) and they miss that interaction. I just miss the feeling from wandering around a bit, even if I don't check anything out.

Sister!!! I do the same thing with a dark chocolate bar. I had bought four and I'm down to the last one. DH has been doing the grocery shopping alone for the past few weeks and I don't know if he can really pick out what I crave so I will have to go the next time he ventures out.

I don't think people in this ignorant, uneducated part of the country are taking this seriously. I am amazed and appalled at what people are buying and the time they are spending just roaming around the store. You are endangering your health and life and mine for freaking nail polish!!!! GO HOME, PEOPLE. I get you need supplies...I really do because I need them too...but stop with the extra b.s. Get what you need and GO HOME.
What really blows my mind is people wearing masks. If you are that worried, don't you think roaming around WalMart for 2 hours is not your best choice? Can you think of anywhere other than medical offices or hospitals that are more likely to be infected? We have no delusions that we aren't all or will shortly be infected. This isn't the place to be.
Thank you for letting me get that out. I really need to before I open my big mouth to the wrong person.

Vent away!

Your post reminds of George Romero's 1978 film, "Dawn of the Dead." The main characters are hiding in a shopping mall which is packed with zombies. The zombies have some memory of enjoying being in the mall and so they returned there.

Some people want to force "normal" because they can't cope with the new normal. Unfortunately endangering themselves and others while doing so.

My daughter works at a Starbucks and it is open for drive through and also mobile take out. She's getting about 30 hours a week, so it seems as if they are getting customers.

i love Endangered species dark chocolate: sea salt with almond. It was on sale about a month ago so i started stocking up. i think i have about 30 or so bars.
It's so good and lower in sugar.
i also stocked up on wine ,beer , and Polar water (and some Bubly)
i just bought a protein powder called "Cute" it looks good. Figured it would be a good standby.

I really miss going to the library. I have a ton of books to read, but it is just a favorite place of mine.

One of my dogs loves the library. He always leads me there and walks right up to the automatic door. They do not allow dogs but he wants to go in badly. He will just sit there and stare inside. I don't know what he thinks is inside for him!
