It looks like this was cathes reply to wendy2:
I appreciate all the work that goes into your workouts, but those premixes don't seem like "mixes". Will there be creative premixes that mix up the order of various segments of the workouts, such as circuits created with the two cardio segments, weights, and core? Hoping for more creativity... Yes most certainly Wendy. Whenever it makes sense to do so (without an awkward interruption of flow or equipment change) we will. |

I've always felt that workouts should be filmed in a very segmented way so chapters and pre-mixes are easy to accomplish. I don't have most of Cathe's latest so maybe there has been improvement. Nothing worse than hearing/seeing "Okay, let's go back down the pyramid now." Cut! - when you're doing the pyramid up pre-mix, for example.. Time/space should have been allowed for an easy cut there. I did preview one of her STS total body pre-mixes, which seemed to be better.
It should always make sense to cut and make a pre-mix at any point - because you've pre-planned. |

Here is this week's update. If you have anything you'd like for a premix, say something as they make the final selections next week.:
We finished the rough editing for ICE last Friday and are now working on the final edits. We've already finished all of our review notes for the final edits and the only thing left to do is for the editors to make the corrections we have outlined which they should easily finish this week. We've now also started to add the graphics to each video which will tell you the weight and equipment Cathe uses for each exercise in each video. If all goes as planned the videos will be sent sent to audio specialist at the end of this week to clean and set the audio. This means next week we will start authoring the DVDs and make our final selections for Premixes and Chapters. Here are all of the steps that every DVD and Video we make have to go through before our DVDs can be shipped to you: 1. Research and Development - Done! 2. Rehearsals - Done! 3. Filming - Done! 4. Rough editing - Done! 5. Final Editing - In Progress 6. Video Graphics - In Progress 7. DVD Authoring - Not Started 8. Proofing - Not Started 9. Masters Sent to Replicator - Not Started 10. DVD Covers - In Progress 11. DVD Replication - Not Started 12. Shipping - Estimated for late Fall, 2015

Here's what someone asked on Facebook:
I saw the premixes posted for Low Impact Sweat. Are those premixes set in stone? Thank you. Cathe Friedrich: No, we haven't really started working on the premixes yet, but will later this week. Just as we did with Ripped With HiiT the premixes will be tweaked right up until the very end of the process. There seems to be some hope!!! Nathalie |

I must say I'm really liking the list of DVD "steps" and the periodic updates as to where they are in the process. The lack of "updates" has always been problematic IMHO, and by doing this kind of posting it can quiet at least "some" of the impatience. It still takes a long long time from first stage of preorder to delivery...
I'm also really liking the potential for some creative premixes! |

I've been impressed by how well these premixes flow. Even the count-downs have been thought out (so they make sense in premixes). There is the occasional blip, but overall pretty good! The amount of work that goes into planning these out must be staggering. (And Cathe has to be disciplined not to speak out of turn during the 'transition periods' in the workouts.) The premixes that I created with the RwH series are some of my favorite workouts. eta: eyefit - I agree. Good chaptering is the key.

It's interesting to see that the pre-mixes can make or break someone's interest in a workout. In the 20 years that I've been doing Cathe's workouts, I think I can count on two hands the number of times I've done a pre-mix. I'm obviously missing out!
For those of you who find this to be an important feature, is it because you never use the workout in the sequential order, or is there another reason the pre-mixes are important to you? I'm very curious... |
